Annual Appeal To Donors

Dear Friends of St. Francis Home for Children:

In this current financial downturn, the economic times in which we live in are at best uncertain. As St. Francis Home for Children’s various programs strive to meet the needs of the families and children we serve that have been impacted severely by an economy that is struggling to recover, we remain steadfast in our belief that better times are coming for all. This optimism allows St. Francis Home’s staff, volunteers and student interns to continue the important work of carrying out the agency’s mission of addressing the emotional, behavioral and educational needs of children.

Since 1852 the challenges that St. Francis Home for Children has faced over the years have undoubtedly been met by your support and kindness. Although St. Francis Home for Children has an extensive successful history of providing quality, residential and day treatment services, our children continue to struggle with complicated mental health needs and very often traumatic life stories that would crush the strongest among us. These are stories of violence, abuse, abandonment and neglect. Yet, we find that when children have the support of parents, teachers, professionals and the community, they can and do overcome trauma.

Our work is tremendously rewarding yet difficult-the resources are limited and the challenges we face are mounting. St. Francis Home for Children must raise additional funds to overcome these challenges and provide opportunities that will give each child the skills and resources to ultimately become and sustain as productive, contributing adult members of our society. In order to continue providing the children and families we serve with the highest quality of care and programming, we are asking for your help.

Please consider the most generous gift you can afford. In this economic downturn, your gift is more appreciated than ever. Your tax deductible contribution will make a real difference in the life of a child who needs our help. I welcome your assistance as we work together to build strong, healthy children, families and communities.

Sincerely,

Paula M. Moody, MSW, MS
