NOVA Mentoring

"Mentoring is a brain to pick, an ear to listen and a push in the right direction” (John Crosby)

Located within the Pine Rock Facility and slated to open in the spring 2011, the St. Francis Home for Children, NOVA Mentoring Program will provide youth with the opportunity to learn healthy behaviors, make positive decisions and become empowered through positive relationships with caring adults. These mentorships will be designed to: (A) promote and develop a healthy pro-social attitude; (B) increase and enhance basic skills and provide youth with exposure to a variety of positive experiences; (C) develop and improve youth’s attitude toward self and the community. The NOVA Mentoring program through the utilization of recreational activities, educational activities and community events will provide youth participants the opportunity to improve in academics, eliminate feelings of alienation and strengthen the bonds to their family, school and community.
