ABOUT ALTERNATIVE TO DETENTION PROGRAMS

St. Francis Home for Children does not currently offer an ADP.

For those ages 11-15, who are currently detained in a secure detention facility. The presiding Judge for the Superior Court, Juvenile Matters, will make youth, who do not pose a risk to the community, eligible to be in a less restrictive setting while awaiting a next court appearance.

ADPs provide short-term care, with anticipated stays of 3 - 60 days, in an environment that is gender specific, trauma sensitive, and utilizes a cognitive-behavioral model to encourage changes in the youth's life including his relationships with family, friends, school and her community. ADPs provide emotional support, crisis intervention, individual, group and family counseling, on-site educational services and advocacy, and case management. The vision of the ADP is to offer a program with supportive services that reduces the risk of recidivism and deters undesired behaviors.
